The Theory Test

Please try to pass your theory test before embarking on driving lessons. This isn’t necessary, however it will give you a good foundation in the rules of the road, prior to starting.

You can take you theory test 3 months prior to your 17th birthday.

The Practical Test

Practical tests currently have a very long waiting list, the average wait time at the minute is approximately 5.5 months.

The DVSA are asking people not to book driving tests at the minute unless they are test ready, and both instructor and pupil agree on this. This helps to prevent wasted test slots. Currently people are failing the test, or not showing up for test because they aren’t ready. Please don’t waste the available slots, leave them so the people who are test ready don’t have to wait an unacceptable length of time to actually take it.
