For learner drivers wanting to get back behind the wheel. The government restrictions have been lifted for private practice from today. So if you have a parent or someone from your household willing to take you out it’s now legal.
Please read the full document for all legislation surrounding it 😊
Unfortunately Driving Instructors have once again been locked down.
As England goes into lockdown from 5th Nov – 2nd December Driving Instructors are one of the industries that cannot work.
Today we were informed that all Driver & Rider training was suspended.
The last lockdown DVSA took no responsibility about Driving instructors, but this lockdown it’s been made official
Driving Tests are cancelled throughout this time, I will update regarding Theory Tests as soon as it’s confirmed. Please check your emails regularly for updates from DVSA regarding any tests you may have booked.
At the minute, the DVSA are providing very misleading information regarding practical driving tests for cars. Towards the end of June some tests have been cancelled and others have not. The DVSA are stating tests are still happening in July too, and whilst they are hopeful, it’s highly unlikely.
One reason for this is, the very people you rely on to take you for test, your Driving Instructor, is not allowed to return to work until the 4th July (The last expected group to return) and even this is uncertain, and depends on how the ‘R’ rate is doing.
Even if Driving Instructors can get back to work on July 4th, they certainly won’t be allowed to present for driving test prior to that date, as it is currently illegal until lockdown is actually lifted. Unless it’s for ‘Key Workers’
After 4th July, it’s still highly unlikely you instructor will take you to test, as bear in mind there will have been no driving lessons for over 3 months, therefore pupils will be very rusty and should really brush up on their skills. It would be a recipe for disaster to present someone for test who haven’t been behind the wheel in such a long time.
Please don’t build your hopes up on any information the DVSA state about driving tests. Until the Instructors can legally return, the only way you’ll do your test is if you go in your own vehicle, once tests have been resumed.
