My 1st lesson

SHARE YOUR DRIVING LICENCE INFORMATION WITH YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Your Driving Licence must be checked prior to driving the car for the first time. This can be done on your first lesson, but it is best checked beforehand to save time on your lesson.

To enable your driving instructor to do this you need to follow the instructions below.

  • Go to the Government Website where you can view or share your licence information. You’ll need:-
    • your driving licence number
    • your National Insurance number
    • the postcode on your driving licence
  • Enter the details it requests from you, then tick the ‘I Agree’ box
  • You’ll see 4 tabs. 3 of them give your licence details for you too view
  • The 4th one says ‘Get your check code’
  • Send this code to your driving instructor prior to your 1st lesson, this will enable them to check out everything is okay with your licence

Bring your licence with you to your first lesson

If you are uncertain what you are doing there is a link here to a You Tube video explaining how to do it. Thanks to Ashley Neal for creating it.

READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You will be required to sign a copy of this on your lesson. If possible print it off and sign it prior to your lesson. Alternatively your instructor will get you to sign it before you commence your lesson.

If you are under 18 please ensure your parent or guardian signs on your behalf.

Currently being updated: This will be actioned on 1st lesson until further notice.

GLASSES

If your wear glasses ensure you bring them with you. You will be expected to carry out an eyesight check prior to driving.
