Something something theory of relativity, but how do they convince tax payers to fork out hundreds of millions of dollars on these projects that seem to ultimately not really contribute much, except proving more aspects of the Theory of Relativity? In other words, what's the point? What to regular humans get out of it? Or do they do it for the _chance_ of finding some mind-bending life-altering tech (with real-life application)?

You visited LIGO that is really cool. I remember when they got the result. Loads of people though it would not work, not sensitive enough or just is not possible to detect gravity waves. I bet they had a sick party on that day. Drunken professors swinging from the chandelier. I would have paid to have been there.

Ting 11:53 - Folks take a REALLY good look at that map, because it's designed to, at a glance, look like they've better coverage than is experienced most places. I recently tried it in south central WA & it was unusable. Apparently, their network is much better for CDMA phones than GSM. BEFORE you try to use this map to do what people typically do with such, research the phone you're expecting to use with the network(don't just go by their site's confirmation that you're phone's compatible, that does NOT mean "will get good service"), & look at the area you're going to be trying to use it in MOST, & make sure the two match well. Does it show just Outdoors & In-vehicle? You will probly NOT get enough signal inside any building to let your phone even register the network's available. All that green you're seeing is just where they've got some small semblance of service. It's NOT an indicator of "good coverage". I REALLY wanted to only be paying ~$36/month vs the $100/mo I'm currently spending, but I ended up having to go back to my original carrier(which cost a $30 activation fee) after trying these guys out. DO YOUR RESEARCH & DON'T BE FOOLED BY THEIR MISLEADING TACTICS!!!

A gravity threshold Idea. I wonder if a threshold is needed to protect against too many gravity waves. If everything could generate gravity. It would make things hard. And since everything should make sense to a network maybe layers in machine learning could be protected with thresholds also. 6000 CPU Cores. I wonder if a future type computer will be a single case cluster computer. Many small motherboard to motherboard connects. Could be pretty cheap since its modular. CPU's does not require a new cuda version all the time.

I am full for investments in everything science related and i love astronomy, but what is the point of detecting the gravitational waves, just to confirm a theorie ? I see that in the last couple of years scientist are spending huge amounts of money to prove some theories, but even if they detect the smalles particles or gravitational waves or black matter, we just add them in the books and have no practical aplication. I think they should invest more in experiments what have an imediate benefit, something that helps us grow. I did not check but i wonder if we could not had build already a base on the moon with the money they spent in the last 20 years detecting xyz particles or other exotic things.
