CyberPower PC has had many issues with recommendations in the past when it comes to parts so they cut that out. As well as a slew of other issues including selling broken parts. They can be very hit or miss. Personally me and my circle of friends do not recommend th em.

She is looking to buy an Alienware desktop. The trouble is: Alienware stopped existing from a VERY long time, when Dell bought them 10+ years ago. So even their name is flawed out from the getgo, there is NO Alienware anymore. Their computers are made by Dell and don't follow any of the building principles first expertly introduced by Alienware corp.

To be fair these companies do have TONS of reps and you might get someone amazing when you call. It's the same with any company that uses call centres. I used to work for an ISP in a call centre and no matter how much training they give some of your coworkers are just gonna be idiots. it's a lot of the reason ISP's get a bad reputation. whenever i get someone on the phone for any company that sounds like they dont understand what theyre talking about i just hang up and call again especially if theres low wait times.

This is an example not just for the PC Industry but also for ANY Industry. That's why you need to spend a lot of money on Customer Service and keeping them TRAINED ALL OF THE TIME! I can't help thinking how many companies are loosing money because of this.

Dell brought to you by a rep in india who wouldn't know what a computer component looks like if you brought a big chart with the description and sat it right in front of him. Did they just get all these reps out of like a "1-800" directory for people who've never spent any time with a computer in their lives? Ok I'm just going to say this really quickly as a side note. I've worked as a customer service rep for like a decade, and this is absolutely the most atrocious service I've ever seen in my life. They don't know their products, they aren't being helpful, they aren't even attempting to figure out what the customer is after in any way. Every single company that has these reps should fire that entire department if this is a representation of how they "help" people. Maingear is literally the only one that was in the ballpark of doing things correctly.

Damn is this how bad it has become in America? Almost all companies has transfer all support call jobs to India were people who cant speak english nor have an understanding for how we make buisness in the west. What was most obvious about those guys is they absolutley knew nothing about computers, just the cheapest labor they could find. What we have learn from this is never call support for buying an computer. Better to find someone you know or have personal conection to ask help and support from or actually read and learn something from internet.

I've had a bad experience with cyber power. Back in 2014 I bought a PC, a 4790k and a GTX 970. It worked for about 7 months and it eventually stopped working. I tried going through their warranty and they refused to fix the pc as they claimed I had messed with the pc(i reset the cmos) and violated their warranty. I eventually had to go through a 3rd party pc repair shop and they did end up replacing my cpu and cooler for a $300 fee. The 3rd party repair shop told me that the cpu didn't have ANY thermal compound on it and ended up over heating. The thermal compound was Cyberpower's fault and they refused to fix it because I had opened the side panel to reset my cmos. Lesson learned Cyberpower doesn't know shit, you shouldn't give them business, and just build your own pc (you would do better) .

These guys are sales reps, not computer experts. It's the same across all industries and has been for a while. They always lipstick the pig to impress the buyer. (but these guys are working from scripts) The reason for this is that customer service went out the window a long time ago because *consumers* don't want to pay for it, and it good salesmen got tired of having their brains picked by customers, only to have them walk out and buy it from a warehouse store. A lot of mechanics will also quote more for women than men on the same job.

Cyberpower is more of a company for computer enthusiasts and/or people who already did their homework. Many sites that do comparisons already know this. I just bought one, and I can tell you that I got a pretty good deal on a RDY PC with some pretty good specs for the $. But then again, I did my homework in advance. I don't walk into a car dealership and just say " I want to buy a car!" Just saying...

I was able to get a cyber power base unit with 8 gig 2400 MHz DDR4, B350M Bazooka, Ryzen 5 1400, and MSI RX 580 armor 4g, 1TB WD Blue 7200rpm HD with nice RGB case and decent PSU for 700, actual price of parts inculding case fans and LED strip via pc part picker was 1100 and only used 316 watts... so I definitely got a manufacture bulk buy deal that could not be gotten from buying individual parts but I bought 16 gigs of corsair LPX Vengeance 2400 MHz, put in my extra WD Blue 7200rpm HD from my old computer and stuck an extra SSD in for a grand total of 1100 including my Corsair Darkcore SE Mouse and Corsair MK2 Strafe Keyboard. A savings of about 500 dollars but all this got me a cheap pc to bring the PC up to my par! maybe not the best idea for someone that doesn't know their hardware. I feel I got a good deal seeing it was almost 2 years ago. as far as customer support... never called them. like you Linus, I void my warranties before I even get into windows the first time by activating XMP profiles and using Turbo Mode. THe only thing this computer needs is a water cooler foir the GPU. CPU under full load for 30 minutes stress testing has never exceeded 57c. the stock cooler on the GPU however has hit 90 on many occasions playing ark and games that do not utilize v-sync... Thank goodness for FRTC! It also seems the prices of the parts have slightly decreased over the past year as well dropping a total of 200 dollars for my full system internals. +James Brock I was looking at the the stat comparison of the 1400 vs the 8320. seems the 1400 is a little better but not much benefit on the workstation side of things which might be why I feel the 8320 is better. I expected great gains in workstation performance as well... 1600 is what I would have liked in the base unit and a modular power supply for easy upgrades. lol http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Ryzen-5-1400-vs-AMD-FX-8320/3922vs1983

Vor 6 Tage

You are correct about lack of prospect of keeping same board and chip set from 8320 and being able to upgrade to anything much better. Had done my research a year or so ago and found prospects on that nil, unless will to change out the CPU and MOBO. Instead at that time, went with installing a Samsung EVO 860 SSD as boot drive (Ebay purchase) and boots much faster. I did find that getting opinions of MOBO widely varied; some like ASROCK, MSI or GIGABYTE as opposed to ASUS and of course some folks love one while hating all the others. Very much a matter of opinion. But overall found many thought highly of ASUS.

Honest opinion: you guys went VERY easy on most of these companies. IMHO every one of those calls was a fail except for Maingear. Dell = not surprised AT ALL. Very surprised at how bad some of the others were. Very reflective of how much these companies rely on online sales. Most were NOT prepared to make a sale over the phone. I SERIOUSLY doubt had the owners of these companies been listening in secretly, any of them would have been happy.

ok, I'm actually embarrassed, I got half of my rig from cyberpower. I had my old computer that i wanted to upgrade, and my nephew wanted a computer for, i don't minecraft or some crap. So I ordered a totally new system from cyberpower got it, broke it down, reassembled it with half my parts and took that. Then went digging through my parts box and used parts websites and threw together a decent rig to give to my nephew. I guess cyberpower figures anyone getting a gaming system would know enough to pick their own parts. So paying people with knowledge to answer phones isn't needed and opted for people with sales experience.......wait they blew it on that one to.
